Red Bank FC — Coach Registration Guide

How to register as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach via NJ Registration Portal / Stack Sports Marketplace

Before you begin: You will need an active NJ Registration Portal account associated with your child's player registration. If you do not have one, contact the club registrar. You will also need your Social Security Number on hand — it is required for the mandatory background check.

Part 1 — Find Your Volunteer Role

1
Log in to NJ Registration Portal

Go to https://clubs.bluesombrero.com/Default.aspx?tabid=820764 and sign in with your account. You should see your family's player registrations on the home screen.

2
Click "Volunteer" in the left sidebar

In the left navigation menu, click Volunteer. If you have not registered as a volunteer before, you will see an empty page with a "Find Volunteer Roles" button.

3
Click "Find Volunteer Roles"

This takes you to the Stack Sports Marketplace (registration.bluesombrero.com), where available coaching positions are listed.

Part 2 — Select Your Position(s)

4
Find your child's team

The page shows coaching opportunities grouped by team. Your child's team(s) will be listed, labeled with their age group (e.g., "10 and Under – Boys").

5
Select your role — Head Coach or Assistant Coach

Each team shows two tiles: Head Coach and Assistant Coach. Click Select on the role you are filling. If you are coaching multiple children's teams, you can select roles across all of them on this same page.

6
Choose who is filling the role

After clicking Select, you may be prompted to choose a person. Pick "Sign up a registered user" if the coach already has a NJ Registration Portal account, or "Sign up a new user" to add someone new. Select the correct family member from the list.

7
Confirm all selections, then click "Continue"

Each selected role will show a ✓ Selected button and display the coach's name below the role title. Once all intended roles show as selected, scroll to the bottom and click Continue.

Part 3 — Complete Your Registration

8
Review and confirm your Contact Information

Your name, email, date of birth, gender, and address should be pre-filled from your NJ Registration Portal account. Correct anything that is out of date, then scroll down.

9
Accept the Background Check Authorization

A policy compliance pop-up will appear for each role you selected. Read the disclosure, then:

Repeat this for each role (e.g., once for Head Coach, once for Assistant Coach).

10
Enter your Social Security Number

Under Proof of Identification, enter your full Social Security Number. This is required to initiate the mandatory NJYS background check. It is transmitted securely and not stored by the club.

11
Review Additional Information and click "Continue"

The system displays your certifications for each role. If existing certifications (Coaching Certificate, Concussion Certificate, SafeSport) are already on file, they will show as Document verified. Click Continue to finalize.

Part 4 — After Registration

12
Confirm your roles on the Volunteer page

You will be returned to the NJ Registration Portal Volunteer page. Your coaching role(s) will now appear, each showing your name, team, and a certifications table.

13
Submit the background check if Risk Status shows "Expired"

If the Risk Status row shows Expired with a warning icon, your background check needs to be renewed. Click Renew & Update, fill in the Background Check Screening Form (your details will be pre-filled), enter your Social Security Number, and click Submit.
